Numbers 'n Stuff

The Census Bureau

The Census Bureau needs to get its act together. Seriously.

They don't have the national average age of the American population and we're supposed to think of them as experts??

Whatever.

At least they keep their facts relevant: Texas rules the roost by an outstanding majoity.
  • Texas is now our second
    most populous State with
    a 1994 population of
    18.4 million.

  • California had the highest
    amount of net domestic out-
    migration of any State
    between 1993 and 1994,
with a net loss of 426,000
    people to other States.

  • The South is the most pop-
    ulous region of the Nation
    and gained the most popu-
    lation between 1993 and
    1994.

Theology courses
A critic (liberal, of course) once described PHC as the "Bible college that turns out politians." Funny how accurate that really is.
Con-law has actually been quite interesting. It's amazing how nearly all my courses turn into a three/four month-long discussion on theology. This time around, though, I might actually discover some legal principles. (insert wink)

The Well-Armed Lamb

Today, I was hunting for the authenticity of this quotation attributed to Benjamin Franklin:

"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."

Well, the quotation has been added to the list of the "unconfirmed." I still think it's brilliant.

Then I started thinking about that well-armed lamb and realized that it fit me perfectly!

Rachel means "lamb" and Leotta means "lion." I'd call that a fairly well-armed lamb.

Final thoughts?

Must. Have. Coffee.
